Main Purpose

To ensure smooth running of the office related to financial control and administration.

Key Performance Areas

(a) Assist the Provincial Treasurer in the development of the annual budget
(b) Establish and implement financial control in accordance with the policy
(c) Respond to branches, shop stewards, officials, and office bearers in relation to financial queries
(d) Liaise with the Head Office Finance Service Center in relation to financial procedures, problems and questions on policy
(e) Bank monies received by the union
(f) Keep accounts of income and expenditure in accordance with the union’s financial procedures
(g) Draft financial reports to constitutional meetings assisting the Provincial Treasurer in carrying out his/ her responsibilities as the political head of finance in the province
(h) Handle lease and lease agreements in consultation with the national account. Assume responsibility for the purchase of office equipment, office rentals, stationery purchase and controls
(i) Maintain a petty cash system
(j) Assist with general administration in the absence of the provincial administrator.

The Person:

- Individuals meeting the following criteria are to apply:

- Matric and relevant tertiary qualifications
- Minimum of three years practical experience
- Recognition of Prior Learning in the finance field will be considered
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Event organizing Skills, Coordination and Management

Remuneration:

- Salary is based on Nehawu Salary Grading System
- Membership of Nehawu Provident Fund
- Medical Aid
- Housing Subsidy( subject to completion of the qualifying period)
- Membership of the NEHAWU Group Schemes
- 13th Cheque
