GENERAL SECRETARIES OF FOUR COSATU AFFILIATED UNION’S TO ADDRESS THE MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA!
THURSDAY, 26 JANUARY 2012

 

The General Secretaries of four (4) COSATU affiliated trade unions {NUMSA’S IRVIN JIM; NEHAWU’S FIKILE MAJOLA; POPCRU’S NATHI THIBEDI and CEPPAWWU’s SIMON MOFOKENG), will address members of the media in a press conference this coming Sunday 29 January 2012.The event will take place at the NUMSA Head Office, 153 Cnr Bree and Gerard Sekota Streets, Newtown, Johannesburg in the Gauteng province.

The purpose of the press conference by the four unions is to announce the historic gathering of global trade unionists under the realm of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) to be hosted in South Africa by the four (4) unions.

In the same Press Conference, NUMSA will be announcing key details or content of the International Conferences to be hosted by the union as part of influencing or shaping the ANC’s Policy Conference to be held in June 2012, Mangaung and the SACP’s National Congress to be held in Durban in July.

The details of this particular press briefing and possible outcomes will be announced by NUMSA National Office Bearers (NOB’s), namely General Secretary IRVIN JIM, President CEDRIC GINA, Deputy General Secretary KARL CLOTE, Deputy President CHRISTINE OLIVIER and National Treasurer PHILLEMON SHIBURI.
